We are a co-educational Christian school offering education from Years 1 to 13 in a welcoming, close-knit community. Located in a beautiful coastal, semi-rural area, Horizon School provides a safe and supportive environment where international students can learn, grow, and experience life in New Zealand.

Our vision, “An innovative school passionate about lifelong learning, excellence and authentic faith,” underpins all that we do. We nurture confident learners who strive for excellence and grow in an authentic Christian faith.

Compulsory Costs for International Students

State integrated schools like Horizon School provide an inclusive and cohesive community with shared values. The resulting sense of belonging is the foundation for learners to take risks in their learning with confidence. Achievement in state integrated schools is, therefore, typically higher than many private or state schools. We believe Horizon to be an investment in your child’s wellbeing and achievement, and great value.

Stationery, uniforms and camp costs are additional compulsory costs.

SUPPORT AND DISPUTE RESOLUTION

Horizon School has clear procedures for handling concerns and complaints from students and their families. We encourage students to first raise any issues directly with the school so they can be addressed promptly.

If a concern cannot be resolved through the school’s internal processes, students have access to independent services:

Dispute Resolution Scheme (DRS)

For financial or contractual disputes with the school: www.studycomplaints.org.nz/drs

NZQA Study Complaints Service

For complaints about the Code:
www.studycomplaints.org.nz

These services provide free, independent ways to resolve issues after the school’s own procedures have been used.

Horizon School is a signatory to the Education (Pastoral Care of Tertiary and International Learners) Code of Practice 2021 and has agreed to observe and be bound by the Code.
